There’s a gaping hole in that white picket fence!

Every family has its share of secrets, but when each member of the family starts keeping secrets of their own, well, that’s when it becomes a juicy thriller, doesn’t it?!

In Robyn Harding’s The Perfect Family, the Adlers seem to have it all. Success, both personal and financial, good education, and the perfect home:Expansive, elegantly furnished, and impeccably maintained .A home that was once their safe haven.

I enjoyed the way the author unfolds the drama, peeling back layer after layer. I also love the fact that the reader is almost invited into the private life of a family that otherwise is very closed off, and allowed to be privy to every secret, right from the get-go. The characters are very unlikeable and the fact that I was left with no characters to root for made this an even more interesting read.

I did find it a little repetitive in places and there was a point or two where I just wanted it fast forwards just a tiny bit, but I felt compelled enough to stay and not abandon to book. I credit the fairly fast pace for that, it might have lingered at times, but there was never a standstill. I was rewarded for staying till the end, but that’s all I’ll say! After all, what’s not to love about a good thriller that is hell-bent on exposing the dark side of suburbia!

If you enjoy an easy domestic drama with lots of twists and turns, this one’s for you!
